The owner of Barneys Farm Seeds is Derry who set about collecting seeds from land-race marijuana genetics whilst travelling around Asia and the Middle East, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Tibet, Thailand, Burma, Vietnam and China in the early 1980’s. He based himself high in the Himalayas for three years and along with other talented and similar minded breeders he began the cultivation and cross-breeding of these strains. Barneys Farm Seeds choose phenotypes for the obvious THC content, taste and aroma and back crossed them. The results were exciting and Barneys Farm Seeds delighted in having harvests of various sativa and indica hybrid cultivars to see them through the long and snow-bound winters in the mountains.

 Barneys Farm Amnesia Haze Skunk #1 pheno crossed with our award winning Amnesia haze was always going to be a winner. That unmistakable Amnesia flavor combined with the power and resilience of Skunk #1. The dominant high is definitely sativa, but amazingly, the Amnesia Lemon has a flowering cycle of just 9 to 10 weeks. The plant takes off vigorously from seed and needs minimum grow time before its flowering phase begins. The plant grows medium high, and delivers long strong colas, giving a distinct lemon flavor and taste, with an uplifting and cerebral high.

Barneys Farm Blue Cheese – The famous Skunk #1 “Cheese” pheno bred through the original Blueberry line. Easy to grow. Yields maximum with a pronounced skunky-cheese aroma and taste. Barneys Farm Honey B  The best Sativa’s are worth waiting for, and Honey B is no exception. The longer flowering time allows the buds to fill out and mature fully. The intense high of this sativa is racy and clear and has a fruity sweet taste. This plant stretches during flowering. Yields are enormous.

Barneys Farm Laughing Buddha – Cannabis Cup 2003. Its long flowering period develops an intense spacey high with a distinct powerfully sweet and spicy aroma. Grows fast and stretches during flowering and may need pruning or bending. The finished plant develops large heavy colas dripping with sativa trichromes.

Barneys Farm Liberty haze is a cross of G13 male with a fast flowering Chem Dawg 91. Liberty Haze has both Indica and sativa characteristics with one perfect talent.- a fast flowering time. (8 to 9 weeks). A medium tall plant with substantial girth and big fat calyxes, she performs excellently in both indoor and outdoor environments. Long dense cola’s start to really fatten up in the last three weeks with dense trichome production with beautiful contrasting red and purple hairs. Barneys Farm Morning Glory Cannabis Cup 2002 This sativa/indica mix is a cross between truebreeding Hawaiian Sativa X Afghani X Skunk. Huge buds form on long stems over a 10-week flowering period. It’s an outstanding producer with a strong earthy taste, – soaring sativa head and the thump of a good indica. An all-round good high.

Barneys Farm Pineapple Chunk – crossed the famous “Barney’s” Pineapple with Cheese/Skunk #1 with the intention of breeding in to this new variety the essence and flavor of these two delicious strains. The result is an extremely vigourous and stable plant. Mould and disease resistant. Flowering to a beautiful conclusion in just 55 days. The essence and flavour of Pineapple Chunk is immediately obvious. Its aroma of earthy Cheese X Skunk is backed up by a secondary scent of Pineapple. The taste is delicious and unique. After much cajoling and hunting, we got our hands on seeds. Thus began a 3 year selection process.
